Pyrotechnics for Training and Simulation

BATTLEFIELD TRAINING & SIMULATION

Applied Pyro-Technology to modern Battlefield Training and Simulation provides realistic theatre of war scenarios and effective stress inoculation to the participants.

Tailored around our customers’ requirements the range of type-qualified pyrotechnic products for Training and Simulation enhances realism during tactical training of land forces.

The use of laser or radio-frequency based training systems allows for very sophisticated weapon training. Visible and audible effects on the training ground are only achieved by applying pyrotechnic battle and weapon effect systems.

Pyrotechnic effects support a variety of training scenarios such as IED Awareness, MOUT, Force on Force, Force on Target and ManPADS exercises.

In combat training centres soldiers are prepared how to react in various combat situations.

Battlefield Effects

2020-DIFCUE STARS-M31A1 APFSDS

2020-DIFCUE STARS-M31A1 APFSDS

The differentiator of simulating a “hit” of kinetic energy tank ammunition (Armor Piercing, Fin Stabilized, Discarding Sabot (APFSDS)) is a glaring flash in the middle and sparks (flares) rising upwards.

2005-SIMULATOR, Hit-Flash, smoke, Report

A differentiation between the firing of a main gun of a tank and “hitting” an opposing tank is essential for the realism in force-on-force training. The DM 29 has a triple effect: Sound, Flash and Smoke.

Multiple Effect Cartridge System

Multiple Effect Cartridge System

The “MECS-Family” provides the user community with multiple effects to simulate various battle and weapon effects, such as firings from tanks, anti-tank weapon and artillery guns. It also serves for hit effects such as air-and ground bursts, tank-kill and APDSFDS hits. The range of MECS ammunition is extendable to adress future needs of the user community.

Datasheets

Surface-to-Air Missile Simulator ManPADS

Besides the warning systems inside the aircraft, pilots need a visible indication from where the shoulder fired threat comes. Our ManPAD Simulator provides an exact “picture” of a flight path of a surface-to-air-missile.

Micro Pyro Card MiPC

Micro Pyro Card MiPC

A typical indoor simulation to provide rifle fire simulation or to provide “booby traps” to the trainee. The safety distance is less than 1 meter.

Datasheets

Macro Pyro Card MaPC

The combination of electronics with the MECS cartridge technology enhances the versatility during outdoor training, and thus contributing to the effectiveness of the exercise.

Launchers

Lightweight Gunnery Signature Simulator LGSS 16

Lightweight Gunnery Signature Simulator LGSS 16

A 16 shot launching system to ignite pyrotechnic simulators of the MECS range of products. The LGSS is both, a stand-alone system or an integral part of a complex combat training installation for force-on-force or force-on-target training.

Datasheets

Lightweight Gunnery Signature Simulator LGSS 32

A 32 shot launching system to ignite pyrotechnic simulators of the MECS range of products. The LGSS is both, a stand-alone system or an integral part of a complex combat training installation for force-on-force or force-on-target training.

Weapon Effect Signature Simulator WESS

Weapon Effect Signature Simulator WESS

WESS is based on the design of the LGSS 16 launcher. It uses a different ammunition plate – 2 launching tubes – for the ignition of the Surface-to-Air Missile Simulator. By exchanging the 2-launching tubes ammunition plate with a 16-shot-ammunition plate, MECS Simulators can also be fired from the WESS launcher. WESS is usable as stand-alone system or as an integral part of systems stimulating the detection system inside of helicopters.

Datasheets

2104 Mini Launch Unit, MLU

The Mini Launch Unit is an easy to install launcher, both for indoor and outdoor applications. It initiates either the Micro or Macro Card simulators and is insofar an ideal candidate to simulate “Booby Traps”.

Small Gunnery Signature Simulator SGSS

Small Gunnery Signature Simulator SGSS

A simplified launching device (six shots) to fire MECS cartridges via a simple electric triggering system. However, the device can be integrated into more complex training systems.

Datasheets

Portable Control Unit PCU

The Portable Control Unit is a stand-alone device with which launching systems like LGSS, WESS can be controlled. The device is pre-programmable and allows the trainer flexibility in his exercise.
